Business Partner Compliance Standards

Patterson’s Business Partner Compliance Standards (the “Standards”) provide clear expectations for any prospective, new, or existing business partners. It is intended to demonstrate the high priority we place on the integrity of our operations and business relationships. To strive to ensure we hold our business partners to high ethical standards, the Company established the Standards that are provided at the link below.

Business Partner Compliance Standard

New Supplier Setup

All new suppliers must be set up before we can issue purchase orders and pay invoices. To initiate supplier setup, request the supplier onboarding package from your Patterson business contact. The packet will come to you via email.

Submitting invoices to Patterson

All invoices should contain the following information to ensure timely processing:

  • Your Patterson contact’s email address (the person who will be able to validate the invoice for accuracy)
  • Complete “Ship to” address where goods/services are delivered (street, city, state and zip code)
  • Patterson's subsidiaries, in the "Bill to" field
  • Unique invoice number
  • Invoice date
  • Freight and taxes where applicable
  • Patterson Purchase Order number, if applicable
  • Description of goods or services for which payment is requested

Patterson is unable to process payment on the following document types:

  • Statement of Account
  • Past Due Notice/Collection Letter
  • Billing Summary
  • Zip Files
  • Estimates

Invoices without a PO:

  • If an invoice is not PO backed, it can be submitted to Patterson AP processing mailbox. It’s important to note, when submitting invoices to the mailbox please follow the below guidelines:
  • Suppliers are responsible for submitting their invoices to Patterson; Patterson employees and associates are not permitted to submit on their behalf.
  • The mailbox is for invoices only, any typed text in the subject line or the body of the email cannot be read.

Third party consultants and contractors

Temporary resources providing professional services to Patterson U.S. locations should submit invoices electronically in Fieldglass. If this is your first time using Fieldglass or if you need help submitting invoices, please reach out to the Patterson Indirect Sourcing at IndirectSourcing@pattersoncompanies.com. Temp labor examples include but not limited to:

  • Consulting
  • Speakers
  • Contractors
  • Temporary labor
  • Staff augmentation
  • Any non-full-time employee needing access to Patterson systems

Qualifications for Patterson’s supplier diversity program

Three qualifications must be met in order for an application to be considered. If not, the application will not be reviewed.

  1. Owner must qualify as a Minority, or Business Must Be Woman-Owned and Small Business
    1. Definition of Minority-Owned Business: A minority-owned business is a proprietorship, partnership, corporation, or joint venture that is at least 51% owned and controlled by United States citizens who are members of the following racial groups:
      1. African American: A U.S. citizen having origins in any of the Black racial groups of Africa
      2. Asian Pacific: A U.S. citizen whose origins are from Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Samoa, Guam, the U.S. Trust Territories of the Pacific, or the Northern Marianas
      3. Hispanic American: A U.S. citizen of trueborn Hispanic heritage, from any Spanish-speaking areas of Latin America or the following regions: Mexico, Central America, South America, or the Caribbean Basin
      4. Native Americans: A U.S. citizen who is an American Indian, Eskimo, Aleut, or Native Hawaiian, and regarded as such by the community of which the person claims to be a part. Native Americans (with the exception of Native Hawaiians) must be documented members of a North American tribe, band, or otherwise organized group of native people who are indigenous to the continental United States and can be provided through a National American Blood Degree Certificate (e.g., tribal registry letter, tribal roll register number)
      5. Indian American: A U.S. citizen whose origins are from India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh
    2. Definition of a Woman-Owned Business: A certified Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) is owned, operated, and controlled by one or more women who are U.S. citizens. Ownership is defined as the owner of record having control of at least 51% of the company’s voting shares and controls the day-to-day operations
    3. Definition of a Small Business Qualification:
      1. Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) Certified Small Disadvantaged Business (Please attach SBA Certification Letter)
      2. Woman-Owned Small Business Concern (WOSB)
      3. Veteran-Owned Small Business Concern (VOSB)
      4. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concern (SDVOSB)
      5. HUBZone Small Business Concern (Please attach SBA Certification Letter) (HUB)
